Hello Friends! My name’s Joe and I am your humble author and an avid, “all in” silver investor. I have been fascinated by the precious metals since the crazy run of the late 70s – early 80s, but I was a bit too young at the time to cash in back then. I probably would have done what many metals investors did at the time, though: hold on too long and lose all or most of those massive profits… After years and years of the bear market that followed that run, I started getting interested in the metals again, primarily silver, in the late 1990s. The stock markets were going crazy, but being the contrarian that I am, my eye was on the metals. I started purchasing silver in the $4-$5 dollar range and have been buying all the way up. I’ve sold a bit here and there to cover some expenses, but I’ve mostly hung on, waiting for the mania that I’m convinced will come. I’ve dabbled in mining stocks, ETFs and futures over the years and have made pretty good money. I’ve had my share of losses as well, though. Through painful (and expensive) self-reflection, I’ve come to the conclusion that I am a much better investor than a trader. I’ve had many jobs and careers in my life. Currently I am a high school teacher by day; protector and proponent of real, sound money by night. It is my honor and pleasure to write these articles and provide resources for those you want to learn more about our current economic conditions, what might be coming in the future, and most importantly, how to protect oneself and one’s family in the event of a possible financial calamity. I love to hear from you, the reader. I encourage you to share your comments and questions. Welcome! J. As I was digging through some old boxes while cleaning out the garage this weekend I ran across this. This is a shot of me taken the morning I went off to the Air Force. It was July 31, 1981 and I was 17. Note the copy of Doug Casey’s Crisis Investing, that I intended to read on my first plane ride ever.
